Interview with… Ashley Walker-Carter

Over the next few weeks and months we will be ‘interviewing’ some of our yoga teachers so you can get to know them better. The interviews will be posted in the BLOG section of our website and the first up is our lovely
Ashley Walker-Carter.

Here is what we found out about Ashley:

 Tell us something about yourself, who are you and where do you come from?
I’m Ashley of Lotus Lessons I live locally in Eastbourne, I love where we are by the sea and South downs here is where my roots are… 

How did you get into yoga and teaching?
I got into Yoga and teaching for my physical and mental well-being I had struggled to get into exercise and yoga was the thing that helped that change for me…. after falling in love with the practice myself I couldn’t wait to share it with others… 

Can you tell us more about your classes, what can we expect?
In my classes we move through a mindful flow being kind with our bodies to enable us to find the shapes that suit our bodies, we follow the practice with a dreamy meditation and breath practice. 

What do you do when you are not teaching or practising yoga?
I have two doggies so I am often out on the hill or by the sea with them… I love to skateboard and get in water, spend time in nature with friends and family 

What are your dreams and aspirations?
My dreams are to continue working in the wellness industry enabling people to get into their practice 

What is your advice to anyone new to yoga?
Let go…. your enough every day and always don’t be afraid of what others may think or if your not going to be able to do a certain pose this doesn’t matter at all just showing up is enough.  

You can practice with Ashley on Tuesdays at 7.30pm, her class is called ‘Mindful Movement and Meditation’.
