Yin yoga is extremely rooted in the seasons, alongside the meridians, the elements, emotions, tastes and colours.
In this workshop we will explore Yin Yoga postures, the meridians and the elements connected to Autumn.
The Meridians (energy pathways) linked to Autumn are the Lung and Large Intestines – the element of Metal.
In Yin yoga, each posture has a specific energetic purpose, which allows us to create equilibrium along our energy pathways (our meridians) and therefore create harmony throughout the mind and body. We hold postures for 3-10 minutes, with the use of props (we love a bolster!), so you can really surrender into the practice and learn to become present.
This will be a deeply nurturing workshop – we will start with some grounding breathwork, followed by some activation of the Lung and Large Intestine reflexology points on the hands / feet (with the option of using a specially made aromatherapy oil, using essential oils connected to this season), working our way into specifically chosen postures where we stimulate these meridians and finally a beautiful body scan and savasana.
Our aim is to honour the season we are in, as well as reducing and preventing any energy blockages that can occur during this season. Aiming to create a sense of peace and harmony throughout the mind and body during this time of year.
